119DTK – Love Locks + shake-out ride around Regensburg

Bike – 40 minutes, L1-L2. Took it easy, tuned up brakes and gears a bit.

Love Lock Bridge

There is a pedestrian bridge across the Danube, and the railing is *covered* in padlocks. Each is engraved or hand written a couple’s name, many with a date. Nobody is sure, but supposedly, this ancient tradition dates back to the early 2000’s AD with the book “I Want You” by Italian author Federico Moccia. I guess the thing to do is declare your love, affix the lock, and throw the keys into the river.  Should you break up later, I guess your lover follows the keys.

Rode in and around the old center of Regensburg. No HR or distance data.
